I am involved in international activism through Health Development Network (HDN) as key correspondent, the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition, and serve in various portfolios in the executive committees of various international ,national and community TB service organizations such as StopTB partnership as a Community Representative in the Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) working group to support National TB programmes , Treatment Action Group (TAG)-USA and ICW East Africa as TB/HIV advocate who are training me in TB/HIV advocacy toimprove case detection and treatment adherence, combat stigma and discrimination, empower people affected by TB, and how to mobilize political commitment and resources for TB, Treatment Advocacy and Literacy Campaign (TALC)-Zambia as trainer of trainers in TB/HIV treatment literacy practice in the workplaces, Churches, markets, schools and all infected groups, treatment literacy practitioner where I am the secretary of the advocacy sub-committee which is the backbone of the organization, TBTV.ORG Zambian bureau current Executive board chairperson, it is the only TB organization which has formed 30 TB support groups around the country so far to promote the support and solidarity of TB patients with a special concern on those with M/XDR-TB. Chibusa TB support group is another community group of people living with HIV/AIDS and those at one time suffered from tuberculosis we share and learn HIV/TB related knowledge, we do first case detections of TB and make referrals to the nearest health centres, I’m the Vice chairperson of this group. I am also an Influential Network Agent of the Zambia Emory HIV Research Project (ZEHRP) where we invite couples for a together voluntary counseling and testing.

I hold a state Diploma in Scientific section (mathematics and Physics) option. I speak and write correctly both French and English. I am a 38 year old Zambian man in the sub-Saharan Africa , the region with high TB prevalence.

I joined TB Education and Training Network (TB ETN) of the U.S.A. at the 38th Union World Conference on Lung Health in Cape Town and now confirmed as an active member of TB ETN.

My dream as activist is quiet big, such that if once given the opportunity to be capacity built as a TB/HIV and Malaria advocate, also trained in the Policy analysis, I would prove myself as the greatest activist that Africa has never seen.

Barriers and challenges are many, such as lack of adequate advocacy trainings, computer and internet facilities.

The vision deep inside that speaks to the very soul. The thing I was born to do, that which draws on my feeling and gifts. It is inseparably linked to my purpose in life. Do all people have heartfelt dreams?

Or probably, some dare not dream because they think they don’t have what it takes to achieve anything in life? Someone once told me, “nothing good can come out of me” Am I too simple, too poor and surrounded by wrong and inappropriate people and circumstances? Yes, I will begin by looking at what some inspirational personalities have said in relation to man’s ability to conceive and nurture dreams .

Every one has his own specific vocation or mission in life. Every one must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment.
