In order to get rid of HIV/AIDS, more serious efforts are needed than we are seeing now. It seems the majority of those living with HIV/AIDS are not being listened to, it's as if their opinion does not count.

The solution to the HIV/AIDS problem relies on realizing who we are, where we are coming from and where we are heading, but this is being ignored.

Others have expressed sadness over recent reports of unaccountability, specifically the Ministry of Health scandal and say its impacts are beginning to manifest.

An unnamed resident of Ng’ombe Township in Lusaka expressed his disappointments and wondered what kind of leadership Zambia had. He said it was embarrassing to see leaders showing no concern when the rest of the world was watching and doing everything possible to attain Universal Access.

Additionally, some health workers fear the recent withdrawal of funds by donors to the Ministry of Health will bring tragedy to the health sector.

On the other hand, some religious leaders seem to be appreciating the efforts made by the government in ensuring free antiretroviral treatment for those living with HIV.

They have however, said the treatment itself is not enough as these people also require good nutrition, clean water, clean environment as well as material and financial support in mitigating the effects of illness in their communities.
